Our two shows on the August 6th “Sounds Of Summer” show at Douglas Park’s Spirit Square in Langley, and August 10 “Music in the Square” in Port Coquitlam were a blast! Thanks again to all the great TOP CITY fans! Thanks also to the organizers of these great events. We hope to see you again next summer!

♪ Getting Ready For A Great 2025!
Our January rehearsals have targeted several of TOP CITY’s “core tunes” that with give our upcoming shows a little different flavor. We’ll be incorporating a few “festival style” tunes that we’re preparing for our 2025 summer performance schedule.
♪ It Was Standing Room Only!
The crowd and the band were really into it at TOP CITY’s final gig for 2024 at Hero’s Welcome. What a great way to end the year! Our 3 new members, Chika Buston, Paul Freeman and Mark Follett contributed like the “old pros” they are, and for the first time, experienced the enthusiastic response TOP CITY receives for it’s powerful approach to Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Motown and Funk classics. Good preparation produces great results!

♪ TOP CITY is excited to welcome the new members after our September/October auditions!
Our sub on bass, Paul Freeman, is now full-time. Mark Follett has joined us on baritone and alto saxophones, and Chika Buston has teamed up with Claudio on vocals. Judging from our first rehearsal with the new lineup, we’re in for some special treats in the new year. TOP CITY is back in the rehearsal studio this month, getting everything nice and tight for our last public gig of 2024 at Hero’s Welcome on December 28th—details to follow. Here’s to an even busier 2025!

The band’s first website was created by our original trumpet player Terry Keller. Terry continued to maintain topcity.ca for a few years after leaving the band in 2011. Baritone saxophonist Steve Bagnell then took over the web duties until his departure from the band in 2024. Thank you, Steve, for your phenomenal playing and artistry! Thanks also for the excellent job maintaining the site. Terry has agreed once again to maintain the topcity.ca website and along with Trombonist Barry Merritt, have created this new, fresh and updated website.
